WELCOME TO UP AND DOWN SPORT & ENGLISH PLAYGROUP!

WHO ARE WE?

Biagio Fantarella is the founder of Up and Down Sport & English Playgroup. After graduating in Foreign Languages and Literature at Turin University (Italy), and after having lived for a short period in Australia, Biagio came up with the idea of starting his own English language school where games and songs were the primary tools used to engage and motivate young learners to learn English. He also collaborates with many nursery and primary schools in Turin. He enjoys surfing, teaching and reggae music.

"Even though I drive hundreds of kilometers a week all over the city and I'm doing two ot three shows a day and I have been doing this four years, I never get tired of working with children [...] looking into the faces and hearts of a new group of children is like splashing cold water on your face on a hot day." - Boori (Monty) Prior, 'Maybe Tomorrow'

Enrica Giordano is a Language and Literature graduate from the University of Turin.Very fond of the English language and lover of the colourful world of childhood, she decided to combine these two passions. After living and working with kids in San Francisco for some time, and after teaching how to play the guitar to young kids for a short time, she entered the world of preschools in Turin. She likes playing ukulele, hiking and teaching.

“I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that
courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked
before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what." -
Harper Lee, 'To Kill a Mocking Bird'
